Application

We strongly encourage you to use the online application.  It means your application is immediately accessible to the program you are applying to, and it lets you to track which credentials we have received. 

The online application allows you to...

• scan and upload transcripts (for review purposes only -- you will need to mail official transcripts to the program(s) you apply to)
• send notices to recommenders asking them to submit letters
• include a statement of purpose
• upload a writing sample (if your program requires one)

Preparing to Apply

You can do a number of things to prepare for the application process.

• Visit the website(s) of the program(s) you are interested in.  You'll find information about and lnks to all of them on our Academic Programs page.
• Make sure you know the specific admissions deadlines and requirements of the programs(s) you want to apply to.  Some programs have deadlines that fall before the Graduate School deadline, and many programs have their own admissions requirements and application elements.
• Take the Graduate Review Exam (GRE).  Emory's code is 5187.
• Prepare your statement of purpose.  
• Discuss your plans with those you intend to ask for letters of recommendation.
