A newly created program, funded through a generous grant from the MacArthur Foundation, will train a new generation of development professionals, offering a Master's in Development Practice (MDP) degree that combines broadly interdisciplinary classroom learning with practicum experiences.
Emory's MDP Program will integrate contributions from a broad range of disciplines, combining academic knowledge with applied, practical experience, contributing to the formation of a new cadre of “generalist” development specialists, uniquely prepared to confront the complex challenges of improving the living conditions of the globe’s most disadvantaged peoples.
The program will enroll its first cohort of students in the fall semester of 2010.
For more information, visit the MDP program's preliminary website.
